Who we are

Who we are

Established on June 1, 2024, and headquartered in Mogadishu, Somalia, the Nikon Institute is a nonprofit, non-governmental East African think tank. We are dedicated to advancing sustainable development and inclusive progress across Somalia and the broader region through evidence-based knowledge and strategic engagement.

By operating at the intersection of policy research, capacity building, and skills development, we bridge the gap between research and practice to drive meaningful change. Our work addresses critical challenges in education reform, economic transformation, and governance, fostering collaboration between governments, civil society, and the private sector. We are committed to building capable institutions and empowered communities to ensure a prosperous future for the people of East Africa.

Think of the Nikon Institute as a strategic bridge, connecting rigorous data and research to the real-world actions that build stronger, more resilient societies.
